The Status Monitor indicates what is happening to the printer when it is being used.
The Setup Printer tab provides access to the Printer Menu button, which, when selected, enables configuration of the printer settings via a series of tabs.
In the Preference tab you choose the information displayed by the Status Monitor and how/when the Status Monitor appears.
